Closed-loop means that capacity constraints are considered when planning and controlling manufacturing. Closed-loop material requirements planning is defined a little later.

 Looking into the different ways into which the waste produced by the processing of the cassava could be utilized or discarded without causing environmental harm the potential for creation of renewable energy was found. The cassava peels and waste water from washing and the de-watering process contain many organic compounds which have a detrimental impact on the environment if not properly managed and over produced. The potential for the creation of Bio-gas was researched and found to be possible and highly effective when incorporated  with animal waste (manure). Rather than chemically inoculating the waste water to produce the gas, it was found that the process through mixing with animal waste is able to produce a larger amount of bio-gas. Equipment Research for cassava flour production

Preliminary Machinery needed for the process - drum washer : effectively was the raw material of dirt and sand at the beginning of process  -dry cleaner : mainly used for separating impurities from raw materials - paddle washer (3 processes of washing occur here) - de-sanding cyclone (used to remove coarse particles from cassava slurry) - rasper : necessary for the fineness and freeness of flour - back flush device (used to avoid flour loss during de-sanding process) - slurry tank - cyclone separator or Screw Extrusion Solid liquid Separato r (dewatering process) - sieve ( after drying the flour will be sieved to ensure removal of coarse particles) - belt conveyor (transport throughout the process)
